Martyred paramedic staff Malik Ashtar was laid to rest with state honour.
The 55-year-old X-ray technicians today lost his life in the line of duty while treating Coronavirus patients. Ashtar was shifted to the Minapin quarantine centre on March 24 where he succumbed to the Coronavirus today morning.He had no travel history.
He is the second medical professional from Gilgit-Baltistan who sacrificed his life while fighting Coronavirus.
Earlier, Dr. Usama Riaz had lost his life in the line of duty.
Ashtar was a resident of Hoper and was living in Sumayar due to his duty at the Nagar Khas hospital. He has left behind a widow.
