Resistance-Leading to Charter of Demand in Chipursan Gojal GBLA-6 Election 2020

NoRoadNoVote slogan was coined by the youth of Chpursan, unanimously endorsed and articulated by senior politicians, senior citizens, social workers, and influential figures. For the first time, people are more concerned about the election. So, far they have given chances to all parties who used to have the government in federal, unfortunately, the problems remain unsolved.

Representatives from all parties have agreed to boycott election 2020 in GBLA-6. They have one agenda i.e. “no road no vote”.

Chipursan road 72 km which connects KKH with Ziarat and Wakan Corridor, this road was constructed in 1982. The dilapidated road condition has claimed more than 20 lives. In 2015-16 20 million PRK was allocated in ADP, but the department failed to materialize it on the ground and every year a substantial amount is being reflected in government files interim of maintenance.

It has been more than six years, the PLMN government and the Hunza BnR Department failed to complete six months road realignment project. People were expecting Mr. Haider Tai (President PLMN Hunza) and Rehan Shah (Candidate for GBLA-6) will come for the inauguration of the project with their senior leadership, but they are again asking vote for the next tenure.

Charter of Demands of the Grand Action Committee GAC for Chipursan

1. The road from KKH Sost to Ziarat to be extended and metaled on an urgent basis.

2. NAB to probe contractors, relevant department officials of BnR Hunza, and politicians for kickbacks and corruption.

3. Job opportunities to be provided to local labors, and non-locals to be sent back, out of 35 labors only 09 are locals.

4. All wooden bridges to be replaced with RCC bridges. Out of 13 bridges, 09 are constructed by the local community, the government contractors and department have withdrawal amount of these community constructed bridges. NAB is requested to probe these corruptions.

5. NAB to probe the delays and failure of the department in the execution of the Yarzrich realignment project.
